Lutezia Dessert Spoon Set (Set of 6) - 19 cm Length - Handcrafted in Italy - Pewter & Stainless Steel
The dessert spoon is midway in length between a tea spoon and a table spoon; it is designed to hold the equivalent of two teaspoons of food - enough for a generous bite.
Sold as six, the Lutezia Dessert Spoon is stunning to hold and behold, and complements a full range of flatware available in Cosi Tabellini's popular Lutezia range.
The Lutezia range of flatware and serving ware is inspired by ancient Rome, in fact Lutezia is the Roman name for Paris. The pewter handles take the form of double or bow-shaped balusters, a design that features prominently in Roman silverware, such as handmirrors, spoons, forceps and other utensils from the 2nd Century BC, as well as within architecture, where marble columns and bas-reliefs were carved as balusters. There are further Roman touches to the handles, including the anthemia or palmette-styled decorated terminals or handle tips, as well as fluted frieze-style decorated handle necks; both very popular styles in Roman art and architecture. The classic style of the cutlery, with its exquisite and elegant design, adds sophistication to any table setting, formal or informal.
The pewter handles of Lutezia cutlery are made using a special technique: the molten pewter is directly cast onto the steel tips of the cutlery; this process forms what is really a single element in which the "hardness" of the steel discreetly dissolves into the "soft" surface of the pewter handle, more suitable for contact with the hands.
