Strictly speaking, the design is that of a Bordeaux glass in style; tall with a broad bowl, it is designed for full-bodied wines such as Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot and Shiraz, as the shape of the glass allows for concentration of aromas, proper oxygenation of the wine, and directs wine to the back of the mouth. However, this universal wine glass is also suited to white wines, such as Chardonnays and Viogniers.
