Art Nouveau-style Donna tray & jewellery stanf of plant and figural form. The figure is that of a young nymph posing in a long, clinging dress, whilst holding and studying a dove. Behind her is a waterlily pad tray, featuring a flower positioned along one edge. The waterlily pads are supported on curved stems which descend sinuously into a pool-like base.
This item is a reproduction of model no. 246 from WMF’s original “The Art Nouveau Domestic Metalwork Catalogue” dated 1906, as illustrated within our image collection. It was originally entitled: ‘Visiting Card Tray’.
