Arezzo Cutting Board - 51 cm x 34 cm - Handcrafted in Italy - Pewter & Cherry Wood
This large rectangular cherry wood and pewter-handled cutting board, which can also double as a cheese board, is reminiscent of the earliest cutting boards, which were fashioned from cutting a block from a softwood tree stump for cutting on. This solid board is the largest in a matching pair within the popular Arezzo range.
Buying as a gift? Why not make it even more special with our engraving service?
Today a good cutting board, of naturally sanitary wood like cherry, is an essential piece of a well-equipped kitchen; in fact most households find a use for more than one. Cherry wood has been used for making furniture since time immemorial, owing to its warm, beautiful tones, which gives it a natural elegance.
Such a much-used part of the kitchen toolbox should be looked after to ensure its posterity - never soak it in water or expose to extreme temperatures, just a gruff scrub of the wood with a brillo pad, with an occasional sanitisation with lemon, salt or vinegar - never bleach, and an occasional buff with oil to prevent drying and cracking of the wood.
The pewter handles will age gently along with the wood without any special treatment.
