Sirmione Shot Glass (Set of 2) - 7 cl - Handcrafted in Italy - Pewter & Crystal Glass
These striking crystal & pewter shot glasses can be used for single shots of spirit or also neat drinks without ice, a quick mouthful, short and fast – not a sophisticated savour – but sometimes it just has to be done, particularly if one is warming oneself up after a cold winters walk.

You can sense the heritage and feel the quality of the crystal and handcrafted pewter, in unison, creating a object of beauty and class; the touchmarks accentuating the authenticity of this handcrafted piece, denoting the Italian factory, designer and components.
The sturdy pewter base, adds to the strength, like a traditionally thickened glass bottom of a shot glass, ready to be slammed on the table – OK, this glass definitely doesn't deserve such uncouth treatment– but it is an object of solid beauty, designed to be enjoyed - carefully.
The origin of the shot glass is unclear, but there are a few unsubstantiated theories. One of the most popular is that it originated in saloon bars frequented by cowboys in the American Old West who would trade a bullet for a small amount of alcohol. Another is that the 'shot glass' was a glass left in the middle of the table that diners, throughout the meal, could place any lead shot encountered during eating. Among a number of other theories, the word 'shot' is a derivation of the name 'Schott', after the German glass technologist Friedrich Otto Schott who invented borosiliciate glass and co-founded the famous Jenaer glasswork in Jena, Germany.
These Sirmione crystal & pewter shot glasses are complemented by many other pewter & crystal glasses within the Sirmione range.
