The Mint Julep is a classic bourbon cocktail best known for being created during the 18th Century as a drink for the wealthy given the requirement for ice, a scarce commodity in the southern states of the USA, and is the signature drink of the Kentucky Derby. The Mint Julep is traditionally served in a Julep cup over crushed ice and garnished with mint; the mix of ice and pewter results in a splendid frosted effect on the outside of the pewter. And as bourbon is the only ingredient in the drink, you should try to use the best quality bourbon you can...

Handcrafted in Northern Italy, this iconic medium-sized pewter tumbler is made from around 95% tin, denoted by one of the traditional marks upon it, making it extremely high quality.
