Whilst designed for firm cheeses, it is the 'generic' cheese knife, and can be used for a variety of cheese, both soft and hard.
Hand-made by Italian craftsmen, pewter and stainless steel, both produced in Brescia, Lombardy, the knife is fused to produce a pretty item combining an ergonomic design with considerable strength, especially needed when cutting through the hardest of cheeses.
Also, it complements a full range of cheese knives and flatware available in Cosi Tabellini's Violetta range.
The Violetta range of flatware and serving ware is a elegantly simple design with rectangular-shaped handles that taper softly at the tip, giving the cutlery a contemporary feel. The soft, warm hues of the pewter, combined with the simplicity in design, adds sophistication to any table setting, formal or informal.
The pewter handles of Violetta cutlery are made using a special technique: the molten pewter is directly cast onto the steel tips of the cutlery; this process forms what is really a single element in which the "hardness" of the steel discreetly dissolves into the "soft" surface of the pewter handle, more suitable for contact with the hands.
