Todi Oil Cruet (Glass stopper) - 23 cm Height - Handcrafted in Italy - Pewter & Glass
This elegantly simple Italian pewter and glass cruet is perfect for fine and formal dining, whilst keeping a warmth and modesty for everyday use, due to the gentle patina of the hand-finished pewter.
Buying as a gift? Why not make it even more special with our engraving service?
Originally cruets were thought to have been used for holding liquids for ecclesiastical uses, for example holy water and wine for communion, but by the seventeenth century cruets were used for culinary uses, especially in France and Italy, where oils and vinegars have long been a key part of cooking and dining.
The glass jar has an easy-to-use spout, and the elegant pewter handle makes passing the extra virgin olive oil or fine aged balsamic vinegar around the dining table a pleasure; the stunning glass stopper maintains freshness, when not in use.
Handcrafted by Italian craftsmen within a family-run company near Lake Garda, this centrepiece can be complemented by other pieces within the Todi range.
