Daniela Bread Knife - 31.5 cm Length - Handcrafted in Italy - Pewter & Stainless Steel
The Daniela Bread Knife, with its serrated edge, is one of the ‘trilogy’ of knives – the others are the chef’s knife and the paring knife – that is indispensable for any kitchen.
As any bread lover will know, the bread knife cuts – or rather saws - through bread effortlessly and evenly, unlike any other knife, enabling you to slice more precisely without squashing the bread downwards and ruining its shape; this is especially true with soft, fluffy bread. Not only that, the bread knife is ideal for many others uses, such as cutting a cake in half horizontally ready for filling, and also cutting fruit and vegetables, such as melons, tomatoes, peaches and nectarines.
The Daniela Bread Knife is hand-crafted by Italian craftsmen, using both pewter and stainless steel produced in Brescia, Lombardy; fused to produce a strong and ergonomic design. The Daniela range of flatware and serving ware is a simple, but stylish, design with a feminine and gently graceful contour to the handles with pretty serrated details, giving the cutlery a contemporary feel. The soft, warm hues of the pewter, combined with the simplicity in design, adds sophistication to any table setting, formal or informal.
The pewter handles of Daniela cutlery are made using a special technique: the molten pewter is directly cast onto the steel tips of the cutlery; this process forms what is really a single element in which the "hardness" of the steel discreetly dissolves into the "soft" surface of the pewter handle, more suitable for contact with the hands.
