Although we are warned against consuming too much salt, it is an essential mineral within a healthy balanced diet – a short, sharp twist of sea salt in cooking is the simplest way of meeting this balance.

This hand-crafted Italian pewter and glass mill is practical and yet also looks elegant upon your dining table, so, a twist in the cooking, and maybe a further twist to taste, will make this routine action feel a little more special.
Our recommendation is to use coarse sea salt crystals, rather than sea salt flakes, as these can coagulate within the mechanism and may cause the grinder to fail. Rock salt tends to be quite hard and abrasive, and we recommend not using it, to avoid the grinding mechanism being worn down.
